Hello,

This email is being sent to many people I have had the pleasure of meeting over the years. Many of you I know well and a number of you I have met perhaps briefly. My contacts with you more than anything had one thing in common, Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Most of us have an attachment and a relationship to this city because we live here, work here, do business here and visit here. We care about its well-being, particularly its heart which is downtown.

The primary development story these days is that LRT (Light Rail Transit) is coming to Saint Paul and its downtown. The attached information, which Saint Paul Mayor Coleman received recently, will tell you in detail the concerns all of us should have regarding its proposed route through downtown.

Mayor Coleman and LRT planners are attempting to force Saint Paul to accept a fantasy downtown LRT plan I know with certainty will, if constructed, foster great disappointment in the future. All of us should find a way to support convenient, safe and enjoyable mass transit, but also ensure that when mass transit involves the laying of tracks those tracks must be on the best possible route.

I ask for your help. Please ensure we, and Mayor Coleman, remain on the right track. Get involved, forward this email, and two to come to all you know who care about Saint Paul and want the best for this city. Help foster awareness and also ask Mayor Coleman to do something very simple, create a test. The mayor¢s office number is 651-266-8510 or his email address is mayor@ci.stpaul.mn.us.

Thank you for your interest.

Best Regards,

Bill Hosko
